Map Chart at map-chart.com is an independent browser-based map-making project. It helps people colour geographic regions, visualise data and create short map animations without a paid subscription.
Designed around the map
The map stays beside its controls, with a searchable region list, reusable palettes and image or video exports. The intended audience includes educators, students, creators and people preparing reports or presentations.
Free tools with a practical architecture
Map rendering, data matching and exports run on your device. A free account adds saved projects and palettes across devices. Account storage is hosted on Cloudflare; no account is required for local editing.
Open geographic data
Our map library uses Natural Earth and US Census-derived geographic data. Source versions, licences and limitations are listed on the data sources page. We do not copy maps or application code from mapchart.net.
Independent identity
map-chart.com is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by mapchart.net. These are separate products. Our editor and help content are developed independently.
