Map Chart offers its creative tools without subscriptions or export credits. Start in your browser without an account and create a free account when you want cross-device saves.
Map design
Choose world, continent and regional datasets. Colour individual regions, search by name, edit colour groups, use pattern fills, change themes and add labels, titles and legends. Undo and redo help you revise your work.
Data and custom boundaries
Import numerical or categorical CSV data with a matching preview. Download a template for your selected map. Import a polygon GeoJSON file when your own geography is more suitable than the included reference layers.
Images and motion
Export PNG, JPEG, SVG and image-based PDF. Create country reveals, numerical rankings, route animations and regional spotlights. Video export uses a browser-supported MP4 or WebM format and works best while the tab remains visible.
Projects and palettes
Save projects locally, download editable backups and share snapshot links. A free account provides project and palette storage across devices. Cloud saves are explicit, not real-time collaboration.
Practical limits
Image exports support widths up to 4,000 pixels. Videos are 3–20 seconds, with landscape widths up to 3,840 pixels on supported devices. Large maps depend on device memory. Local libraries keep up to 100 projects; accounts hold up to 200 projects with a 1 MB limit per request. A shared link is a snapshot rather than a live public page.
