Bring a table into Map Chart, choose its region and value columns, then preview which names match your map. Imports are snapshots: reconnect or reimport when the source changes.
Excel workbook files
- Open Data and expand Excel, Google Sheets & Airtable.
- Choose an .xlsx workbook smaller than 5 MB.
- Select a worksheet and the region/value columns.
- Choose Use these columns, Preview import, then apply the matched values.
Excel files are read on your device. Formula cells use their saved results; the editor does not run Excel formulas or macros. Use a header row and at most 10,000 data rows. CSV also remains available.
Public Google Sheets
Choose Google Sheets public link and paste the spreadsheet URL. The selected tab is taken from the link’s gid value. The table must be readable without signing in. Our server retrieves the CSV export, with a 2 MB response limit, and returns it for column selection. For a private spreadsheet, download an Excel or CSV file and import it locally.
Airtable read-only connection
Provide a base ID, table name or ID, region field, value field and a personal access token with data.records:read scope limited to that base. The server requests only the two chosen fields. Pagination supports up to 10,000 records. Connect / refresh takes another snapshot; it does not enable background synchronisation.
The token stays in this tab’s memory and is sent over HTTPS to the import endpoint only to retrieve records. It is not stored in projects or our database. Disconnect, change source, leave the Data tab or close the tab to discard it. Do not put a token in a map title, CSV or share link.
Private cloud accounts
Private Google Sheets and Microsoft OneDrive/Excel sign-in are not connected in this release. OAuth application registration and consent configuration are required before those connections can be offered. Local workbook import works without a Microsoft account.
